FIELD 309
FIELD 309
Synopsis
FIELD 309 is a hilarious look at the death of the soul and the impulse to keep up. In the Field 309, Mister Pants and Mister Agis attempt to stay together and keep working, but are constantly, and with increasing disastrous effect, thwarted by the Board of Directors, increased surveillence and mysterious new personell. They have to keep up or else…
FIELD 309 has been in development since 2008, beginning with creative discussions with Mike Senften and a 15 minute excerpt at the old Dixon Place. Since then, the script, ensemble and direction has changed dramatically. In 2009, Title:Point was thrilled to receive development grants from The Mental Insight Foundation and The Puffin Foundation to build this show and the ensemble behind it. In March of 2009, the ensemble had three strenuous and inspiring sessions with professional clown and teacher, Matt Chapman, to create a common language and basis for our work to come. Following those sessions, we have been meeting 1-3 times/month to collectively work on the characters, world and text of FIELD 309.
This past September, we were invited to show our work-in-progress at the new Dixon Place, along side a reading by Sarah Graalman and my direction of "An Unsuccessful Play" by Daniil Kharms.
On the heels of this most recent performance, we aim to complete a new draft of the scipt and move into full production in 2010. If you are interested in the development and future of this project, please let us know!
